WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT SCHOOL SET FOR AUG. 25--26
WETUMPKA, Ala. - Landowners interested in improving wildlife habitats and population management will have the opportunity to learn more about a variety of practices at a Wildlife Management School, Aug. 25 and 26 in Wetumpka.Attendees will learn about white-tailed deer management, feral hog control, timber management and where to obtain assistance when implementing these practices. The Alabama Association of Conservation Districts' Forestry and Wildlife Committee is sponsoring the event, which will begin at 8 a.m. Thursday at Camp Chandler YMCA, located at 1240 Jordan Dam Road in Wetumpka. Registration is $85 and includes lodging in bunk-style accommodations and meals. Single day registration is available for those who cannot attend both days. The deadline for registration is Aug. 19.
