POULTRY SEMINARS TO FOCUS ON DISASTER PREPARATION
The Alabama Poultry and Egg Association is hosting four Grower Educational Seminars in October. The theme of the seminars is "What We Leared From the April 27 Tornadoes and the Aftermath." Topics include "What is the NPTC?," structural and insurance considerations, generator and electrical maintenance issues and winter fuel and electricity saving technologies. I would definitely encourage poultry growers to attend the seminar closest to your location," said Guy Hall, the Alabama Farmers Federation's director of dairy, pork and poultry divisions There will be some excellent discussion on disaster preparation and each grower can receive 2 hours of Continuing Education Credits for their CAFO poultry operation. The dates and times of the seminars are as follows: Tuesday, Oct. 11
• 11:30 a.m.: Cullman Civic Center, Cullman
• 6 p.m.: Snead State Cafeteria, Boaz
Thursday, Oct. 13
• 11:30 a.m.: Tom Harbin Ag Center, Luverne
• 6 p.m.: New Brockton Farm Center, New Brockton A meal will be served at each meeting. Two hours of continuing education credits will be awarded for attending.
