ANNUAL TREASURE FOREST CONFERENCE TO BE HELD IN TUSCALOOSA

The Alabama TREASURE Forest Association (ATFA) is hosting its annual conference and tour in Tuscaloosa, Sept. 30-Oct. 1.The conference begins Friday, Sept. 30 at the Hotel Capstone in Tuscaloosa, with registration at 9 a.m. A luncheon will follow from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The topics of Friday's 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. sessions include "How to Grow Big Fish in a Small Pond," "Let's Sell Pine Straw," "Sustainability, ATFA in the Woods, FSC in the Store," "Managing Your Timber for Long-Term Family Income" and "Learning Life Lessons from Land Management: Ladies Only." Saturday's events begin with a prayer breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by the opportunity to see how timber and wildlife are managed inside a high fenced enclosure at the McGiffert TREASURE Forest. The conference will conclude with the ATFA banquet and auction from 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. Saturday. To register, visit www.atfa.net. The registration fee is $99 for adults and $25 for children (19 and under). This fee includes the luncheon, banquet, sessions, auction and tour.
