ALFA INSURANCE RESPONDS TO HELP STORM VICTIMS
MONTGOMERY, Ala., Jan 23 -- Following the deadly storms that tore across Alabama late Sunday night into Monday morning, Alfa Insurance® is mobilizing resources to handle claims. Claims adjusters are already on the scene in the hardest hit areas, and a mobile response unit is on its way to the Chalkville Service Center at 2430 Old Springville Road in Birmingham, Ala.
The 38-foot-long response unit can serve as a fully functional Alfa™ office, even if power and communications are out in the impacted area. Using the latest satellite technology, the MRU can connect to Alfa’s computer network and is equipped with cellular and land line connectivity.

Policyholders are encouraged to make temporary repairs to their property to prevent additional damage, but should be careful to only do business with reputable companies. Victims of disaster are prime targets for criminals. Each year, insurance scams account for $30 billion in losses. Policyholders should be wary of unsolicited or unexpected offers to perform repairs or conduct inspections.
