Farm business management, food safety, greenhouse production of fruits and vegetables, irrigation and pest management are among the issues that will be discussed at the 2012 Alabama Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association (AFVGA) Conference in Auburn, Feb. 10-11.
The conference opens at the Ham Wilson Livestock Area at 8 a.m. Friday with educational programs and a hands-on workshop at the Old Agronomy Farm. A barbecue supper at 6 p.m. will close the first day of activities.
Attendees will spend Saturday at the Auburn University Hotel and Dixon Conference Center, where educational sessions begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m.
Registration fees are $60 for the first attendee and $30 for each additional attendee. Registration received by Jan. 31 includes the 2012 AFVGA membership fee, conference registration for one person and meals. Registration received after Jan. 31 does not include meals.
