TURFGRASS OPERATION SURVEY ONLINE NOW
MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- In an effort to gain valuable information regarding Alabama's turfgrass production, a research team from Auburn University is asking farmers and agribusinesses to complete a Web-based survey by March 2.
"We are working on a decision model that will survey producers who are entering into or exiting out of turfgrass production based on competing enterprises," said Jing Yi of Auburn University's Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology. The competing enterprises include more traditional productions such as cotton and soybeans.
The Department of Agronomy & Soils and the Department of Agricultural Economics & Rural Sociology at Auburn University are working jointly on this decision model.
"We're hoping the survey will provide current and detailed turfgrass production information, including planting size, turfgrass species, other on-farm productions and marketing strategies," said Yi.
Individual survey responses are confidential, and information provided will be combined with reports from other growers for statistical purposes.
