USDA/NRCS AGRICULTURE COMMUNITY OUTREACH MEETING SET FOR JAN. 15
The USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is sponsoring a free community outreach demonstration and workshop for agricultural producers Jan. 15. The workshop will provide an explanation of programs that can benefit farming operations in 2013.
Scheduled from 6 p.m.–8 p.m. at the Old Dunbar Elementary School Senior Center in Ramer, the workshop will feature representatives from NRCS, Farm Service Agency, Resource Conservation & Development, Soil & Water Conservation Districts, Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Tuskegee University, Rural Development, Alabama Forestry Commission, Alabama Ag Credit and Alabama Clean Water Partnership.
Farmers, people with limited income and community members, as well as EQIP participants, are encouraged to attend the event, which will be conducted by the Wiregrass Rural Conservation & Development (RC&D) Council and Tri-Community Development Corporation.
