STATE FORESTER SUBMITS RESIGNATION
MONTGOMERY, Ala., - State Forester Linda Casey submitted her resignation, effective Jan. 1, 2014, at the Alabama Forestry Commission meeting Tuesday, Oct. 15.

“It has been an honor for me to have served Alabama as state forester,” Casey said during the meeting. “I will do whatever I can to help in the transition.”
Casey has served as state forester since Feb. 1, 2007. She previously worked for International Paper for more than 30 years.
“Linda Casey has been a wonderful asset for Alabama’s landowners for more than six years with the Commission,” said Alabama Farmers Federation Forestry Division Director Rick Oates. “Her knowledge of the forestry industry is extensive and helped her relate to the people she represented. The Federation is grateful for what she accomplished and wishes her the best.”
Forestry Commissioner Salem Saloom was appointed head of the search committee to find Casey’s replacement.
