TUESDAY IS FINAL DAY FOR COMMENTS ON RENEWABLE FUEL STANDARD
The 60-day public comment period for the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) closes Tuesday, Jan. 28.
A November proposal from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) suggested cutting the renewable fuels quota for 2014 to 15.2 billion gallons. The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 called for 18.15 billion gallons of renewable fuel in 2014.
The EPA proposal stated 13.01 billion gallons would come from conventional ethanol with the remaining 2.2 billion gallons coming from advanced biofuels.
