USDA TO HOST WEBINAR ON FOOD SAFETY VERIFICATION PROGRAM
Alabama fruit and vegetable growers are invited to attend an online discussion about the food safety verification program for USDA’s Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs). The hour-long, live webinar is Thursday, March 6, at 1 p.m. Central time.
The program is sponsored by the USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) and will cover GAPS for planning, plan implementation and audit preparation. The event includes a presentation from Ralph Evans, an AMS auditor training specialist, and a question-and-answer session led by Ken Peterson, head of the Speciality Crop Inspection Division’s Audit Programs.
