FLOODED FARMS IN TALLADEGA CO.

Portions of Talladega County experienced severe flooding following heavy rainfall that began Friday night. Farmers Bob Luker and James White say this isn't the first time the area has flooded, but the unexpected storms have left them with an uncertain future. Read more at the link below.

Eligible Alabama Farmers Federation members can receive a $500 discount on each qualifying 2011, 2012 or 2013 model year Chevrolet, GMC or Buick vehicle they purchase or lease. This exclusive offer is for new vehicles purchased or leased at participating GM dealerships through Farm Bureau's-GM PRIVATE OFFER.

To obtain the certificate go to: www.fbverify.com/GM and enter your member number and zip code. Print the certificate and present it to the GM dealer to get the member discount.
Individuals must have been a member of Alabama Farmers Federation for at least 60 days prior to date of delivery of the vehicle to be eligible.
The certificate must be presented to the dealership prior to purchase. It cannot be applied after a vehicle purchase.
The name and address printed on the certificate must match what is on the member's valid driver's license.

Twenty-six GM models are part of the program, including the Chevrolet Silverado HD, honored as the 2011 Motor Trend Truck of the Year. A broad range of other pick-up trucks, SUVs, sedans and crossovers also are included in the program. The Chevrolet Volt is excluded.

The Alabama Farmers Federation is a member of the American Farm Bureau Federation. All AFF members hold membership with the national organization and may participate if a member for 60 days.

Alabama Teacher of the Year Alabama`s Teacher of the Year for 2013 is Dr. Allison Grizzle, a mathematics teacher from the Birmingham City School System. One of the many prizes awarded to her is the use of a new car, courtesy of the Alabama Farmers Federation and Alfa Insurance. Company president Jimmy Parnell presented her the keys at a ceremony at the Alfa Headquarters in Montgomery this morning.
